Practical help with those little jobs around the home.

What can the Handyperson do?

The Handyperson can carry out small repairs, maintenance and adaptations which you might find difficult to do yourself.  Some examples:

  • fit a grab rail
  • fit a curtain rail
  • fit a key safe
  • assemble flat pack furniture
  • fit a spy hole, window or door chain
  • turn a mattress
  • security checks
  • change a light bulb
  • fix a shelf to a wall
  • re-seal a bath or sink
  • hang a picture/mirror
  • make safe loose carpeting

We aim to ensure that our customers remain safe and secure within their homes.

We carry out tasks that help prevent falls.

We offer a home safety check and a referral service for a fire safety check.

Who can use the service?

The service is open to anyone over 55 years old and any adult with a disability who lives in the Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

How much will it cost?

£20 for first hour and £15 an hour thereafter.  Materials are charged at cost
