Volunteering with Age Concern Kingston Upon Thames

'People like volunteering for Age Concern Kingston because they feel they are part of something.'

Angela, Raleigh volunteer

We offer a range of stimulating and interesting volunteer opportunities. Over 140 people support Age Concern Kingston by giving their time and skills. We could not provide our services without their invaluable help.

People of all ages choose to volunteer with Age Concern. Volunteering can be a way of maintaining skills post retirement, or learning new skills whilst making a positive contribution to the community. It can also be a route into work: many of our volunteers have later joined the staff of Age Concern Kingston, or have gone on to employment elsewhere.  It is often fun and companiable and always worthwhile.

94% of our volunteers declared themselves 'very satisfied' or 'satisfied' with their experience of volunteering with ACKuT in our Volunteer Survey, conducted in November 2009.  To read a full analysis of the results click here.  The results can be found here.

'I found it good to see and hear an overview of ACKuT and its future that is wider than the picture of volunteering one day a week on one centre.  Thank you for including invitation to me.'
